MAFC approaches football as both lens and mirror: a cultural territory through which to read the psychic, aesthetic, and cultural conditions of the post-millennium zeitgeist. Launched this summer to coincide with the 2026 FIFA World Cup, MAFC comes to life to sit with the real ones and establish a new protocol. In the words of the editor’s note: “Football is pop. Period. A block party with no door policy. We want to return to this, to the very foundations upon which football entered this world.”
